Report: Microsoft in talks to buy TikTok’s US business from China’s ByteDance

ByteDance and Microsoft offer deal to allow TikTok to remain in the U.S., per report

China’s ByteDance has agreed to divest its TikTok operations within the US, in keeping with a report in Reuters. Under the deal, Microsoft would take over stewardship of the U.S.-based information of the favored video sharing service. The deal permits one other firm in addition to Microsoft to function TikTok within the United States. This would enable the service to proceed to function within the United States, sidestepping the alleged government order threatened by President Trump.

Allegedly, ByteDance had beforehand sought a deal that may enable the corporate to retain a minority stake within the firm. That plan was apparently not too long ago deserted after the White House rejected the proposal.

Under this new deal, Microsoft can be in command of defending U.S.-based customers’ information, and one other U.S.-based firm can be allowed finally take over TikTok as properly.
